From Nine Mile Point to the Gulf Coast's Most Trusted Name in Produce
CJ Matrana grew up on a farm in Nine Mile Point, Louisiana, plowing fields and planting produce before school each morning. By nineteen, he had his own truck and was hauling watermelons to local grocery stores. In 1977, he and his wife Naida opened a fruit stand in Westwego. All six of their kids worked it. Over time, that stand grew into a wholesale delivery operation, and in 1984 they purchased the property at 201 Louisiana St. where Matrana's Produce still operates today.
Nearly five decades later, the name means the same thing it always has: fresh produce, reliable service, and a team that picks up the phone.
